"Total BS. They banned drilling because they wanted to, and they couldn't care less how many jobs it cost - in fact, the more the better, because it means more people dependent on unemployment. The scientists they consulted were uniformly against a drilling ban - but the Administration lied and claimed they supported it." This one is just about completely true! As it is, they really don't care about jobs, because if they did, they'd create an environment for them, and quite simply, we'd have more than enough jobs here at home!

"LanguageMan1 - It's good that you've realized that domestic production is better than importing, but if you don't understand that cutting taxes on investment is the best way to spur more of it, then you still don't get it. " I DO get it! But, considering they're not paying 60 and 70% as they once did or more as they once did, I don't have sympathy for the wealthy today! I once had more money, but just like people lost money in GM when the government took it over, I've lost in stocks as well! Plus, with no work, or tax credits for business being shipped out of the country or factories being shipped out of the country, it's not right to and for our own people! It's only good for the rich as they get wealthier off the backs of foreign workers.

As to your comment on the Cash for Clunkers item: did you read the entire 24-page analysis? It was not a cable news blurb. A Chinese proverb says, "A wise man makes his own decisions, an ignorant man follows public opinion”

You're right about our use and dependence on oil.

You're right today. I don't believe that a green economy can support us and our growing population. There's got to be an answer but going totally green is not it.
