clean: why should the US gov. be serious about the SPR fluctuations? After all, it is not like there are massive amounts leaving the SPR - there still is more than enough.

that whole story about winter/summer fuel is a big bunch of baloney. Doesn't happen but in the US and (not certain w/out researching) possibly in Canada. Haven't seen it anywhere else. IMNSHO it's a way for Pig Oil to make more money... you know, drive the summer prices up by Memorial Day (which is a holiday not celebrated elsewhere around the globe, so there's not fixed date why prices should go up).

We're seeing decreased pump prices in our area for the past 10 days, but I don't expect the trend to continue.

Can't we update the news stories on a daily basis? Anyway, this may be the most predictable event in history. Can't they stockpile a bit so there's no supply crunch while they're switching over?

But of course. Another way to keep gasoline prices up since the refineries are being closed down for "maintenance".
